Hatha | Yoga Foundations
I attended my first yoga class in the early 2000s. Connecting with the breath and the body, I noticed, had an immediate calming effect. And I felt grounded in a way that I was unaccustomed to. My head had always been up in the clouds, but with yoga I could begin to feel my toes touching the ground. I wanted more of that! So I kept practicing. These days, my practice is an ongoing exploration of energy, of that quality of feeling that can be found beneath our experiences of emotion and thought. Through yoga, I try to connect and commune with that energy.
As a teacher, I strive to co-create with students a safe and secure space to experience the enlivening and healing qualities of yoga, to slow down together and connect with the breath. I’m trained in Hatha Yoga where we explore yoga postures as a way to cultivate awareness while strengthening the body and expanding mobility. If I have a goal for my classes, it’s for us to find presence in the practice space, so to trust intuition and reside there.
