I attended my first yoga class in the early 2000s. Connecting with the breath and the body, I noticed had an immediate calming effect. I felt grounded in a way that was new to me. My head had always been in the clouds, but through yoga I began to feel my toes touching the earth. I wanted more of that, so I kept practicing.
Over the years, my practice has become an ongoing exploration of breath, movement, and awareness. I continue to discover new layers of sensation and feeling on the mat. What began as a physical practice has become a daily practice of asana, meditation, and an ongoing study of classical yoga teachings.
I studied to become a yoga teacher at Loving Kindness Yoga School with Ti Harmony and completed my 250-hour Yoga Teacher Training there. Since then, I have continued my studies in pranayama with Swami Karunananda and in Yoga Nidra with Chitra Sukhu. I am deeply grateful for my teachers and for the opportunity to learn in ways that continue to shape my practice and how I share that practice with students.
In my classes, I hope to create a welcoming space where students can slow down, come back to the breath, let go of what wants to let go, and simply feel. Yoga postures become a way of opening and exploring the body while gently building strength, expanding mobility, and cultivating awareness. It’s my hope that each class awakens a sense of freshness, enlivened possibility, and expanded awareness that can travel with us beyond the mat.
